Confusion over the term "e-invoicing" has led some to believe that sending a PDF file is the same as an e-invoice. A PDF is a picture of an invoice. Once it's sent, the biller has no further information. It's probably opened, printed and sent through a payment process where it may be lost, forgotten, or parked in an "in" box waiting for approval.
